About me

After completing my bachelor at University of Twente in Industrial Design Engineering, the master Design for Interaction at the Technical University of Delft fit all my interests regarding design. Understanding users’ wishes, what motivates them, and what impacts their life. I consider my strengths to be communication, conducting user research, creativity when thinking of ideas, curiosity to try new things, and my visualisation skills.

Next to my studies I wanted to collect more experience, thus I helped in a research project regarding mobility at the TU Delft, see project two. And outside of my studies I also like to be creative by painting or through photography. I also love to travel and completed my minor in Querétaro, Mexico.

My approach to design

Research and design go hand in hand in my opinion. Research should be the basis of a product or service. Answering the who, the what, and the why as reasoning behind a design. A product or service should solve a certain issue for its user, otherwise what is its purpose?

I am a curious person so investigating the problem is exciting for me.  Collecting and analysing evidence of a prototype or an existing design sparks my creativity. How can we change this aspect and make it easier or more enjoyable?

After collecting evidence, it is time to unleash the creativity. Ideation is one my favorite moments during a project. I search for ideas that investigate the boundaries of the brief and limit the amount of judgement during that phase. Even though some ideas are unrealistic, it helps me to think out of the box.

Including users during the design process increases its impact and ultimately helps create or improve (an existing) product or service.
